Poor Little Genius

What is a “Poor Little Genius”?

A poor little genius is someone who has a wealth of talent hidden inside of them, but who perhaps remains poor because they haven’t figured out how to discover and develop their God-given gifts.

No matter how financially stuck people may feel, everyone is born with the capability of having “genius” ideas.

For example, consider the woman from the midwest who was frustrated with all the tumbleweeds blowing through her back yard which were getting stuck in the fences.

As a joke, she put them up for sale on the internet, and now she runs a business selling tumbleweeds to high-end designers and movie producers.

She probably didn’t recognize her idea as “genius”, but it was. She was simply responding creatively to an annoyance in her life.

So as long as you have annoyances, disappointments, challenges, or setbacks, you have all the right ingredients for a genius idea.

Your genius ideas are right there, floating on the surface of your consciousness, and like that woman, you might not even realize that the subtle idea trying to get YOUR attention could open huge doors for you.

Years ago, when my husband and I were brainstorming on how to recover from a financial setback of our own, we decided it was time for me to finish my third book. However, there was one giant obstacle in the way.  As we worked to overcome that second problem, my husband had an idea, which turned into over forty-thousand dollars in new income within just a couple months.

This idea-generating skill is a skill that can be learned, which is why I’ve worked really hard to create tools and programs that will help YOU identify and develop the genius ideas that are inside of you.

So, don’t be a poor little genius. 😉  Let me help you.

But first…

Say “poor little genius” ten times fast…

…and you’ll probably end up saying the name of my third book.  Here it is, along with a few of the other new “Genius” tools available now to help you figure it out:

I look forward to helping you have a major BREAKTHROUGH this year! Originally published November 12, 2010.

Meet Shantel McBride

Shantel McBride is one of our busiest Genius Bootcamp Facilitators. She loves Genius Bootcamp, and because of the quantum leaps it created in her life, she has been teaching what she’s learned ever since.

Outside of Genius Bootcamp, she also teaches other classes such as “Live Like You’re Dying”, “Ideal Life Vision”, “The Power of Words” and also offers personal mentoring.

At a time when I was running out of steam, Shantel showed up and became the wind beneath MY wings. She believed in my message, could personally vouch for its power, and has since been a strong driving force behind keeping the Genius Bootcamp project alive.

Shantel is a mover and a shaker. She hosts a show on K-Talk Radio called INSPIRED CONVERSATIONS, and is an in-demand coach and mentor.

Listen to her presentation at a TEDx event on the topic: “Live Like You’re Dying”. So powerful!

And of course, I should add, she continues to facilitate Genius Bootcamp trainings in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mesa, Arizona.

Thanks for all you do, Shantel! You are certainly a force to be reckoned with!!

Meet Denise Webster

Denise Webster is one of our FTMF Honors Graduates who went on to Mentor Training as well as Genius Bootcamp Facilitator Training.

Because she’s also working on a book, she has also been through Profitable Author training, and attended one of our Book Writing Retreats.

Because of her dedication and rapid progress, in 2010 she was appointed a member of our Mentor Advisory Board, and I’m very excited to have you meet her now.  I want you to see what she’s gone on to do and become… and I know that it’s only the beginning!

For one thing, she’s built (and continues to build) a fabulous website called All About Becoming, which shares her stories, humor, expertise, confessions, and unique perspective on the Laws of Success.

…And recently she was invited to speak for a TEDx event. So funny and so real!

One last thing you should know, is that she’s now facilitating Genius Bootcamp trainings for those who can get themselves to the Southern Utah region.

Way to go, Denise! So glad to have you on the team!!

Got a Dilemma?

Positive Thinking Tip: Keep it Simple – and Trust the Process

Got a dilemma? What if you had absolute confidence, knowing exactly what to do next?

The hardest work you’ll ever do takes place inside your own mind. It’s the hardest work in the world, and most people will do anything they can to avoid it.

But when you know how to get your mind in a ready-state for inspired ideas, then you more easily recognize them when they come, and you learn to trust them to help you find the shortest distance between your dilemma and its resolution.

This is a very simple process, but it can be tough to do because it requires mental discipline.

How To Do It

  1. Picture what you want – see the outcome as though it has already happened. Literally take the time to put the image(s) on the screen of your mind and hold them there until you can…
  2. Create the emotional experience – allow yourself to answer the question, “how would it actually FEEL to have this dilemma solved?”
  3. Get to work solving the problem to the best of your ability, trusting that you are being guided by your higher power to achieve the success you envisioned.
  4. Never allow yourself to think for longer than a split second, “I’m not sure if this is actually working…”  You must CHOOSE to believe until the goal is achieved.  Believe that there is unseen help orchestrating all things necessary for your success.  As long as you believe it’s there and working for your good, you’ll qualify for the help.

Most people get stuck because they do step 1 and 2, but fail to do step 3 long enough because they allow doubt or discouragement to take over.

A lot of people get stuck because they fail to take step 1 and 2 seriously enough.  It requires a space – a positive environment and time to do the mental work.

That’s what we give you at Genius Bootcamp: the environment, the guidance, the time, and the space to do the work.

Do I make people do push-ups and bark at them if they don’t do them fast enough?

Well, I know, I do seem like the type of person to run things that way, don’t I? LOL

No, but the fact is, as Bertrand Russell put it, “Most people would rather die than think; [in fact], many do.”

Or as Henry Ford stated, “Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is… why so few engage in it.”

Wallace Wattles said, “There is no labor which most people shrink as they do from that of sustained and consecutive thought.”

So, what happens at a Genius Bootcamp?

You THINK – and you think a LOT.

From this thinking in a certain way – which I coach you through, in a relatively small group setting – you will discover genius ideas.

In fact, while you’re at my bootcamp, you’ll wish you were doing push-ups instead!

But you’ll be glad you came. You’ll thank me for putting your brain to work like this, and you’ll take with you a skill that you’ll be able to use time and time again throughout your life.

Did you know?

There are people on the planet who are paid to just sit and think – and they are paid well for it – because they have learned how to tap into genius ideas, in the same way that I’ll show you how to find (and trust) the solutions to your own dilemmas.

Remember, the solution to every problem is only an idea away.

However, so often we remain stuck because we can’t seem to think of that one brilliant idea that tries to get our attention, oh so quietly.

When you go to a Genius Bootcamp, you MUST bring with you at least one perplexing dilemma. That’s the only pre-requisite.
